For months now we’ve heard stories of indie games breaking their sales record on the Nintendo Switch and it seems like this trends is also true for Nintendo’s own first party game.
According to the NPD group’s data for March 2018, Kirby Star Allies had the series highest debut month in history. Kirby is traditionally not one of Nintendo’s biggest sellers, but it seems like, as was the case with a lot of other franchises, the boost in sales from the Switch’s popularity helped Kirby reach a new level of commercial success.
Kirby Star Allies came out on March 16, 2018 and was the fourth bestselling game of the month and the bestselling game on the Nintendo Switch for the month.
